The Town of Windham is currently seeking candidates to fill vacancies for Alternate Zoning Board of Adjustment Members. The role of an Alternate Zoning Board of Adjustment Member is to hear appeals from any order, requirement, decision or determination made by an administrative official and administers special provisions in the ordinance dealing with variances and special exceptions.
Alternate members participate in discussions at meetings and vote on applications in the event that regular members are absent. Alternate Zoning Board of Adjustment members are expected to attend regularly scheduled Zoning Board meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
You must be a permanent resident of Windham to be considered. Alternate Zoning Board of Adjustment Members are appointed by the Zoning Board of Adjustment. Meetings are generally held in the evenings on the Second and Fourth Tuesday of each month. The term will begin immediately.
